De naam "Foto Total" duidt op de uiteenlopende fotografische invalshoeken van de leden in de groep. Kleur of zwart-wit ... analoog of digitaal ... negatieven of dia's ... klassieke of flashy beelden ... Geen van de keuzes is beter of slechter dan de andere. Wel integendeel, het is precies die verscheidenheid die zo boeiend is. Bovendien kan iedereen wat leren van elkaar, want hoe verschillend ook, zijn aandachtspunten als waarneming, compositie of vormgeving voor iedereen van toepassing.
Voor Foto Total is evenwel zeker niet alleen het fotograferen belangrijk. Een essentiële factor in de samenhang van de groep is vriendschap. Naar believen kan u Foto Total een groep fotograferende vrienden, dan wel een groep bevriende fotografen noemen.

Colour or black & white … analogue or digital … negatives or slides … classic or flashy pictures … Non of these choices are better or worse in comparison to the other ones. On the contrary, it’s just this variation which makes it so fascinating. Moreover, anyone can learn something from the others, because, notwithstanding these differences, attention points such as observation, composition or designing, are suitable to everyone.
But it’s certainly not only photographing what’s important for Foto Total. Friendship is an essential value for the coherence of the group. Just as you prefer, you can call Foto Total a group of photographing friends, or a group of friendly photographers.
